Courses Overview
The craft courses are a hands-on learning experience. During the course you will assemble, and hand pour you own candles to take home with you.
What Experience do I need for this Workshop?
This workshop is designed for complete beginners and also for those with a little or maybe 'lapsed' experience candle making. As there is a maximum of five students to one Tutor on this workshop, tutoring can be tailored to each student to ensure that you get the best out of each workshop.
Location and Times
The workshop is held at First Floor, Tower House, Loch Prom, Douglas, IM1 2EZ
The workshops begin at 11.00am and finish at 1.00pm.
Refreshments
We provide a selection of refreshments (tea, coffee, bottled water, biscuits and cake). We do not certify that these snacks are nut or gluten free. Please bring your own refreshment if you have a specific dietary restriction.
On the Day - What to Expect
- Suitable for complete beginners and those with a little experience.
- Guided tuition with an experienced candle maker, 2 hours 11am to 1.00pm.
- Workshop in a purpose designed Candle Studio.
- One Tutor and a max of six persons.
- All materials and equipment provided.
- Printed workshop contents to take home.
- Take home quality candles and/or wax melts (worth over £30) you have made yourself.

By booking and paying for a workshop confirms your acceptance of the following terms and conditions:
Booking your Candle Workshop
Workshop bookings can only be made via our website, www.wickdsoy.co.uk. If, for whatever reason, you cannot use our website, please email info@wickdsoy.co.uk and we will assist you to complete your workshop booking.
Booking and Payment Confirmation
Payment for the workshop is due in full at the time of booking. On our website, you can pay using debit and credit cards, PayPal and Gift Vouchers. You will receive a receipt by email which will confirm your workshop booking, the dates of the workshop and the amount paid. Any booking is considered provisional until payment in full is received.

Cancellations and Refunds Policy
Cancelations by You
If you to cancel your booking:
- Within 14 days of the original booking date, we will refund the full course fee.
- Over eight weeks before the workshop, we will refund in full.
- Between eight and two weeks before the workshop, if we can resell your spot, we'll refund your workshop fee minus a £25 administrative fee.
- Less than one week before the workshop, no refund is available. (Subject to point one above).
- A 'No-show' on the day with no notice is not refundable
We maintain a ‘waiting list’ for all workshops and will aim to replace any cancellation with another attendee.
We do not cancel workshops for any reason except entirely unavoidable events such as if the Workshop Tutor is physically unable to teach the workshop through sickness or injury or extreme weather conditions. Should we have to cancel a workshop, attendee will be offered an alternative workshop date or a full refund.
Health and Safety and Insurance
Your workshop materials will include our health and safety procedures. We request that you read them thoroughly. In any event, the first 10 minutes of any of our workshops will be spent familiarising everyone with health and safety rules.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspects of the workshop, please bring it to our attention at the time. We will try to resolve any issues whilst the workshop is progressing. You will be asked to provide a Review of the workshop by email after you have completed the workshop. Feedback is important to us, whether it is positive or not.
Workshop Liability Waiver
“the Company” means Janette Pledger t/a Wick’d Soy Candles or Wick’d Soy Candles.
Liability Waiver or all Wick’d Soy Candles Wax Melt or Candle workshops.
We are fully insured for £2m of Public Liability insurance and the certificate is available for inspection at all times in the workshop.
NOT MEDICAL ADVICE: I understand that no ingredients, ingredient descriptions, or guidelines presented are intended to treat, prevent, or cure any disease or condition.
RELEASE/WAIVER: I hereby agree to indemnify and hold the Company harmless against all claims for personal injuries or damages of any kind arising from participation in any Wax Melt or Candle Making workshop, and their resulting products.
PHOTO CONSENT: Kindly let us know during the workshop if you prefer not to have your photograph included in any social media posts. Your privacy is important to us, and we respect your preferences.

I fully understand and acknowledge that workshops offered by the Company may involve inherent risks, dangers and hazards which may result in injury or illness.
I hereby voluntarily agree to release, waive, discharge, hold harmless, defend, and indemnify the Company from all claims, actions or losses for bodily injury, property damage, wrongful death, or otherwise, which may arise from my participation in any workshops or classes, resulting products from workshops or classes, or from use of equipment provided by the Company.
I accept full liability for creations made by the participant in the workshop.
